About
About Altera Home
Altera Home began in a converted garage in Scottsdale, Arizona, with a single wax melter and a stubborn idea: that a candle should be judged on how it burns in the third hour, not on how it photographs in the first minute.
What we make
Our range is deliberately short — soy and coconut wax candles in amber and smoked glass, rattan reed diffusers, room and linen mists, and a small line of botanical bath goods. Every scent is built from a base we blend ourselves, then tested across a full burn before it is offered for sale.
How we make it
Batches are capped at ninety units. That number is not marketing; it is the largest quantity we can pour, cure, label and burn-test in a single week without cutting a corner. Each batch is logged with its pour date, cure time and burn result, and that log is what tells us whether a scent stays in the range.
Materials
- A soy and coconut wax blend, undyed, so the wax keeps its natural colour.
- Braided cotton wicks, trimmed to the diameter of each vessel.
- Cosmetic-grade fragrance and essential oils, never ingestible and never medicinal.
- Glass, ceramic and aluminium vessels chosen to be washed out and reused.
Where to find us
We ship across the United States from a single studio. There is no retail counter — the website is the shop, and the inbox is the front desk.
